THE APARTMENTS FOR RENTAL

The historic centre of Bologna is a delight to explore, and better still when you can return to your very own 'palace' after a day of seeing the sights. With its grand entrance arch and wrought-iron gates, the inner court-yard provides access to the individual apartments. Casa Lupari still features a small chapel that is dedicated to St Ludovico Morbioli (1433-1485), who actually lived here in in late 1400.

If you have an eye and an interest for historical architecture, you will delight in the many architectural features that date from the XIV Century, which indicate the wealth and importance of the Lupari family that commissioned and lived in this building for many generations. The property has been enlarged over the years and at every turn there is something of architectural and historic interest.

There is a choice of 3 apartments: Asinelli, Garidsenda and Trebisonda.

Apartment GARIDSENDA (sleeps 2 - 4)

This luxurious apartment has been recently and sensitively restored, and elegantly furnished.

The beamed 14th C frescoed ceiling and original wood parquet flooring lend this apartment an air of true splendour. The cosy living area is centred on a fireplace, with rugs and a three piece suite, and is dressed with antiques. There is a TV and a writing corner, so no excuses for not sending any postcards to friends back home!


The dining room is approach up a small flight of wooden steps, with the kitchen opposite. A serving hatch means that you can enjoy your meals in elegant surrounds, yet with minimum fuss. The kitchen features its own breakfast area.

The spacious kitchen is equipped with fridge-freezer, dish-washer, washing-machine, microwave, saucepans glasses, dishes, cutlery.

Sleeping accommodation

The large main bedroom has a double bed and is beautifully decorated with paintings of roses. A glass-walled cupboard adds to the sense of light and space of this intriguing room with its arched ceiling.

A further 2 guests can be accommodated on a comfortable sofa-bed in the 'studio' part of the living room.

The bathroom is also large and has elegant ceramic decorations, plus a bidet and bath.

Apartment ASINELLI (sleeps 2 - 3)

Located on the top floor of Casa Lupari, apartment Asinelli, it has a small terrace off the living room, which provides panaromic views of the Asinelli tower of Bologna. A fully glazed door opens out onto the small railed balcony, that offers roof-top views across Bologna.

The Asinelli is a small apartment ideal for two guests, but eventually suitable for 3, thanks to a small second living-room in which there is a sofa-bed.

The living-room is bright and sunny. It is cosy and peaceful, with the gentle sounds of the city rising from the streets below. It is decorated with Persian carpets and comfortable sofas, and features a TV and a small antique wooden writing desk.

The dining area is close to the small kitchen that includes a mini dish-washer and microwave.

Sleeping accommodation

The bedroom has a double bed and antique furniture.

A third guest can be accommodated in the second living area.

The bathroom is spacious, with a bath.

Studio TREBISONDA (sleeps 2-5)

This studio apartment has its own access, separate from Casa Lupari off a small private road.

The large living-room is light and includes comfortable sofa-beds, a dining table, sofas and a TV.

The spacious room is elegantly dressed with rugs and antiques. The kitchenette has been cleverly 'hidden', in a cupboard unit that opens to reveal the sink, 4 ring hob and a fridge/freezer.

Sleeping Accommodation

The two sofa-beds can accommodate two adults and two children.

The separate bedroom off the living-room contains a single bed - useful if you are holidaying with a smaller child who needs to get to bed a little earlier, or another family member who would appreciate more independence and privacy.

The bathroom is equipped with a shower and bidet. It also houses a washing machine.

This apartment is equipped with air-conditioning, in addition to full central heating.

BOLOGNA

Bologna, similar to Lucca, is arguably one of the most beautiful cities in Italy, yet typically overlooked by tourists who dash between Venice, Rome, Sienne and Florence. Its many streets are paved with marble and radiate from the central piazza that features the two towers. All around is medieval and renaissance architecture. The Basilica di San Petronio, the fountain of Neptune (di Nettuno), plus many museums. Bologna is also home to Europe's oldest university. Large ancient walls separate the historical centre of Bologna from the larger city. It is also on the route of the Mille Milgia, the famous car race that now runs as an annual tribute event for classic cars.

Bologna is served by its own airport abut 7km from the city centre. It is also served by good railway connections.

950 Euros per week for up to 4 guests.

Trebisonda:

850 Euros per week for 2 guests. All inclusive. Each additional guest up to a maximum of 5 costs 1,000 per week.
